Research Systems Administrators
Healthcare Information Systems is searching for Systems Administrators with a broad skill set to support researchers as part of the Institute for Clinical and Transitional Science. Positions will be responsible, at varying levels, for the research, evaluation, design, installation, and maintenance of a variety of assigned systems. Candidates must have a desire to learn and explore innovative solutions to information technology problems and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Two positions are available and will be filled based on candidate qualifications. Positions require a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on systems administration experience including knowledge of Linux or Mac OS X in both server and desktop roles (typically 3-7 years for Level II/III; and 1-5 years for Level I/II). Linux or Mac OS X experience should include OS and application installation, migration, configuration, upgrades, support, troubleshooting, and scripting. Also requires familiarity with server virtualization using a product like VMware. A complete listing of desirable qualifications is available at the website listed below.
